Day 20: Door

A flower door that leads to nectar for a bumble bee. Bumble bees are a favorite insect for me.  These guys were really fun and hard to catch as they quickly shot from flower  to flower.

Day 11: Landscape

I try!

I'll eventually get that lightening shot. Tonight we had a big storm with tons of lightening! Most of the shots I was able to get came from inside our house through an open window due to the fact there was a monsoon out there, and the lightening was INTENSE. The lightening was flashing almost directly overhead so it was nearly impossible to get anything. However, I was able to capture several indirect flashes which is better than I was able to get before - my camera settings are getting better.

Okay, babbling aside, here's what I captured:

I LOVE clouds. I have all my life. So, I counted myself lucky when I was able to capture these dramatic moments before the storm hit yesterday afternoon.

Grand opening

This is the ribbon cutting ceremony for the pool John Parker and his crew installed for my mom. John and his crew have been working hard on trying to get her crazy yard under control, and they are doing a fabulous job. Before and after shots coming later. Now here is the ribbon cutting...

Vacation

We went to Charleston to see my brother in law and his family, and of course to see Charleston. I'll update pics when we return.

Gerbers

I thought I would go ahead and show off the way the gerber daisies really look. They are so vibrant!

I love gerbers. They are my favorite flowers. While watering my beloved flowers, I found this sunny looking guy.

Happiness is skipping

Growing up.

It's tough on moms when our children go through various milestones. This is my son waiting for the bus to go to school. He "graduated" from Kindergarten today.

House of Fairies

A "cave" at the base of an enormous maple tree. I can just see them dancing here.

Alien invasion?

Well, no. I suppose not. But, praying mantises are quite unusual to say the least.  These are pretty cute. And very tiny! My kids say they are getting married.
